Here is a non-exhaustive list of companies, organisations and clubs that offer kayak classes and outings for beginners.

Montreal’s whitewater kayaking club organizes lessons in a heated swimming pool near Frontenac metro station that are quite affordable and great quality. They take place in the winter though. Then they organise river courses in late spring. Then, as a member of the kayak club, you can participate in their fun, free, volunteer-run outings. https://www.cckevm.org/
